Mooring Buoy Project

 Mooring Bouy Project

The coral reefs of the world's oceans are very fragile structures and undergo a daily fight to stay alive. The impact that mankind has had on the reefs of the world quite possibly may never be reversed.

Beqa Adventure Divers choose to use moorings rather than anchors on our dive sites. At Shark Reef Marine Reserve we have installed 8 moorings, these are for the boats and for the Marine Reserve marker buoys.

The sites that we visit for our Beqa Lagoon reef and wreck diving trips are also moored dives. It's not uncommon for the line floats to be physically removed or pulled free in heavy seas so regular maintenance of these moorings is required.
